Several roads will be closed temporarily in Brickfields to make way for the Kuala Lumpur Police-level National Sports Day programme.
According to the Brickfields police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor the road closures would take place on Saturday (8th October) starting 7.30am. Among the roads that will be closed during the programme are Jalan Tun Sambanthan and slip roads heading into Brickfields, The Star reported.
“We do not want road users to face any difficulties or be burdened by the road closure due to the programme,” he said in a statement yesterday.
In addition, Amihizam has also urged the motorists and other road users who are heading to Brickfields, especially to the Little India area to plan their trips accordingly or make alternative arrangements.
As the Deepavali bazaars kickstarted earlier this month, Brickfields seems to be the main place for customers to head on for the much-awaited Deepavali shopping. Plan your trips ahead for any shopping spree!
