N. Elanghovan – Malaysian Mountaineer
N. Elanghovan (64) who is prominently known as Elango became among the oldest Malaysians to reach the top of the world. He has just proved us that age in not a barrier to achieve your goals.
Born and bred in Cameron Highlands, the 64-year-old mountaineer became among the oldest Malaysians to reach the top of the world. He has just proved us that age in not a barrier to achieve your dreams. Elango is also known as a member of the ‘Keluarga Malaysia-Everest Expedition 2022’ led by two-time Everest climber T. Ravichandran, 57. Along with Sarawakian Oisin Jangin Bagly, 25, and Sabahan Adelinah Lintanga, 35, they will leave for Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 25, before proceeding to Lukla a few days later.
Ravi Tharumalingam – Malaysia’s First Solo Climber
Hailing from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Ravi Tharumalingam (57) has conquered Mount Everest twice which was in the year 2006 and 2007. He was listed in the Malaysia Book of Records for his accomplishment of conquering the highest peak on May 15, 2006. His climb was a solo expedition through the North Face Route, Tibet, and reaching the South Col on his second Mount Everest Solo Expedition in 2007 via the South Face Route.
This earned him the nickname of “Ravi Everest” and although he has lost eight fingers due to frostbite, Ravi stated the incident has made him stronger and more determined to complete the Seven Summits and K2.
Extremely proud to receive the news that our Malaysian solo hiker #RaviEverest had reached the roof top of the world today with our oldest hiker Elangovan. #ravieverest Another proud moment for Malaysia although the Government did nothing to help this Everest Expedition 3.0 ! pic.twitter.com/B7o3RLqVAK

There’s a saying that:
The best views come after the hardest climb!
But, what have store them to reach the summit of Mount Everest?
Let’s take a look at the challenges that they’ve endured during their climb towards the tallest peak in the world!

Spearheaded by Global Expedition Club, the Everest Expedition 3.0 has taken place at the early of April. The team began their ascend on May 2 toward camp one, camp two and camp three and stopped to rest on May 5 before continuing their climb from May 9-11 before reaching the peak on May 12.
Ravi Everest & Elanghovan are just an inspiration to all the young teens and hikers who have a dream to conquer the Majestic mount one day. Keep inspiring us mountaineers!
