Our young kiddos are constantly making us proud by emerging as champs at various competitions!
Hailing from Klang, Yeshmitha Murugan & Sharvina Sekaran have defied all odds again by taking home gold medals at the virtual ‘International Invention and Innovation Competition 2021 (I3C)’ which was held virtually on 20th and 21st November last year.
Spearheaded by the member of the Malaysia Innovation Invention Creativity Association, Shanthie Krishnan said the spark of inspiration to come up with such an outstanding invention came along after watching a news coverage on dengue killing more than 100 people, most of whom were children, in an Indian state in September last year.
Despite experiencing a wide range of educational hurdles as a result of the worldwide pandemic, these enthusiastic students went the extra mile, by shedding their sweat and tears into creating something that would benefit the community.
It was a notable victory for Yeshmitha from SJK (T) Simpang Lima as the young kiddo’s invention namely an ‘Organic Air Purifier’ helped to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections which were made of natural herbs. The reusable mask was invented to obstruct the airborne of the dangerous virus spread. The mask is unique as it is made from fabric and is reusable, durable, washable, and has a texture that guarantees protection, stated Shanthie to The Star.
“The mask has a built-in slot and a pocket for an optional filter. This increases its effectiveness in blocking airborne COVID-19 and other droplets.”
On the other hand, Sharvina Sekaran from SK Convent 1 has also made us proud by inventing the Zodia Army, which is known as a plant-based balm created to repel mosquitoes.
By winning the award, they’ve surely made a mark at the national and international platform which enables them to showcase their innovation among an audience of hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
Way to go lil kiddos!
