Spearheaded by the Indian Cultural Society (ICS) of MMU Cyberjaya, the ‘16th Bharani Project’ is back once again with its sole aim of touching and impacting the lives of rural children who lack in educational resources.  ICS has been actively participating in initiatives to support children who are living in rural areas and prioritising improving access to education, providing them with a fair shot at getting a well balanced and wholesome education.

Bharani Project is one of ICS’s major event for this academic year. The initiative focuses primarily on UPSR students living in estates. ICS helps engage these deserving students in academic and non-academic programs as well as acknowledging them for various education and societal activities.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” ― Nelson Mandela

The society has recently initiated a Donation Drive to help the less fortunate children in rural areas. As a result, they have adopted the school to assist them by providing free tutorial courses and supplying necessary educational resources.

Check out the Facebook post below:

Every child has a right to education!

Regardless of who they are, where they live, or how much money their family has, all children have the right to learn and be empowered.

This project was also nominated for ‘Best Humanitarian Award’ [MMU AWARDS 2013]. At the moment, SJK (T) Ladang, Semenyih has recently approached ICS by requesting to adopt the school and carry out free tuition, motivational talks, and leadership programmes. A total number of 203 students ranging from the ages of 10-12 are welcomed to this programme.

Hence, if you’re willing to chip in a small amount of money to help these children exercise their educational rights, all you need to do is follow the simple guidelines as shown in the post below:
