Bearing the weight of cameras and heavy equipments, photographers from all around the world brave through the crowd, weather and fatigue, in hopes of being a shutter click away from a resplendent photo that will eternalise the happenings at Thaipusam. Year after year, we see more photographers travel from near and far to get a glimpse of the vibrant Thaipusam festival. I woke up early to meet up with @hafifiarifadil92 , who I’d met in Bali a few months ago. We were going to see the infamous Batu caves, just outide of Kuala Lumpur. I sat on the back of his scooter while we saw the sun come up from across the road. Almost there, we ran into an intense amount of cars, motorbikes and people. Hafifi had read somewhere that 1.6 million people were expected to visit the caves today. Omg. Apparently it was the celebration Thaipusam and hundreds of devotees were lined up in beautiful clothes, chanting and carrying pots filled with milk to offer. The caves were impressive too, but for me, the ceremonies, the chanting and the smell of milk made it even more special. 🙏🏽✨ #thaipusam #kualalumpur #sonyalpha #sonya6000 #whpwanderlust
