The country has reported 801 new Covid-19 cases today (28th October). This is a seemingly positive reduction from 835 cases reported yesterday (27th October) and 1240 cases on Monday (26th October). Currently, there are eight (8) fatalities, 799 local cases, two (2) import cases and a recovery rate of 573 cases.
Approximately 30 percent of the Covid-19 clusters that have been identified since the beginning of the pandemic are related to the workplace. Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said workers and enterprises play a significant role in curbing occupational spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Employers should be taking preventative steps by conducting Covid-19 screenings for their employees, as it will allow the identification of asymptomatic positive cases among coworkers.
This eventually will allow the Ministry of Health (MoH) to perform public health operations. Screenings would also be able to reduce the distribution of Covid-19 in a population and prevents certain people with a higher risk of contracting the virus, such as individuals above the age of 60 and infants.
Stay safe and follow the SOPs set by MoH in order to break the Covid-19 chain!
