When it comes to beer, there are still a lot of misconceptions about individuals who consume it. A Tamil couple and entrepreneurs have defied these stereotypes.

Nakkeeran and Yegavaani invented Neitiv, a brand that specialised in premium beer brewed from coconut flowers.

Nakkeeran and Yegavaani had a great start to the year 2022 since they were invited to the BBC reality show Dragons’ Den, which broadcast on BBC 1 in mid-January and is now available on the BBC’s iPlayer (series 19, episode 2).

Vaani expressed on that show that beer is considered an immoral drink for women in many countries throughout the world, including the United Kingdom, and that they intended to name their product “Coconut Flower Beer for Women.”

“It’s a nerve-wracking experience to be a part of BBC’s Dragons’ Den, but I’m excited about our product, brand, and concept.” So pitching in Dragons’ Den helped me gain confidence,” she went on to say.

The beer comes with an aromatherapy candle, as well as a mandala colouring card and a meditation guide in the pack.

The beer is made entirely of natural ingredients, with no added flavours, preservatives, sweeteners, eco-friendly and gluten-free.

Unlike regular beer, they use Coconut Flower Drops, a very unique and rare ingredient. It is made in small batches and works in cooperation with small farmers.

Vaani also stated that their ultimate aim is for people to enjoy the experience and the moment rather than become drunk.

Neitiv was chosen as an innovative Food Tech start-up for the Land & Launch in the UK-Singapore programme, and this dedicated entrepreneur was named one of the top 50 British BAME entrepreneurs.

In addition, in 2021, they received their first award for Global Vegan.

Bottled coconut flower drops and coconut flower wine are among the other drinks the Singaporean/Malaysian Tamil pair desire to launch.

Varnam team wish the best for both Nakkeeran and Yegavaani in their future endeavours.
