For those that had a tight schedule and did not have the opportunity to fulfill their vows during Thaipusam can now perform their religious duties at the Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple in Batu Caves, as the temple management has ‘opened its door’ till 30th January.
According to the Star, Datuk N. Sivakumar stated that the temple committee was making all necessary preparations for devotees to perform their vows, which also included carrying ‘paal koodam’ (milk pot offering), ‘kavadi,’ as well as shaving their heads as penance for answered prayers till the end of this month.
“Quite a large number of devotees were unable to fulfill their vows on Thaipusam day, the prayer rites such as kavadi, paal koodam, and shaving are permitted from 5am to 10pm, and the temple will likely remain open longer if there are many devotees.”
Furthermore, all the prayer ceremonies will follow the standard operating procedures (SOP) outlined in Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (PPN), and the devotees will not be required to register for any ceremonies online.
