‘Vettaiyan’, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. Recently, the film’s makers released a teaser for the first single, “Manasilaayo,” which has sparked a great deal of excitement among fans. The song, composed by the acclaimed Anirudh Ravichander, is scheduled to be released today, September 9 at 5pm (MYT 7.30pm).
The teaser for “Manasilaayo” has revealed a dynamic collaboration between Superstar Rajinikanth and composer Anirudh Ravichander, both presenting a stylish look. Rajinikanth appears dashing in a black suit and dark sunglasses, while Anirudh complements him with a sophisticated light-colored Veshti.
A standout feature of this song is the revival of the legendary Malaysia Vasudevan’s voice, made possible through AI technology. His son, Yugendran Vasudevan, performed the AI-generated version of the song. Malaysia Vasudevan, a celebrated Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema, passed away in 2011.
For those who may not know, Rajinikanth and Malaysia Vasudevan last worked together in the 1987 film ‘Oor Kavalan’. The film was a hit and marked the final collaboration between the two.
Malaysia Vasudevan’s son, Yugendran, shared the glimpse of the song on social media, expressing his happiness at hearing his father’s voice again after 27 years. He extended his gratitude to Rajinikanth, Anirudh and Lyca Productions for this touching tribute.
‘Vettaiyan’ is an action film directed by TJ Gnanavel, scheduled for a theatrical release on October 10, 2024. This movie marks Superstar Rajinikanth’s 170th project and boasts a star-studded cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.
