On Sunday, Director Shankar took to social media to express his frustration over copyright infringement related to the Tamil novel ‘Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari’, for which he holds the rights.

Recently, the director shared his interest in adapting the acclaimed Tamil novel ‘Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari’ for the big screen during promotional events for ‘Indian 2’. He shared that he discovered Su Venkatesan’s book during the pandemic lockdowns and quickly grew to admire its compelling story. He mentioned that after reading the novel during the lockdown, he began adapting it into a screenplay, which he has now completed. He plans to develop it into a three-part franchise.
Shankar took to his X account to announce that, as the copyright holder of the work, he would pursue legal action against anyone who adapts concepts from it without proper authorization.
Shankar’s upcoming movie with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, ‘Game Changer’ has wrapped up shooting and is gearing up for theatrical release . There are speculations suggesting that the film based on ‘Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari’ might be Shankar’s next direction.
