Soori’s ‘Kottukkaali’ Wins Grand Prix Award at Amur Autumn Film Festival

Soori and Anna Ben’s film ‘Kottukkaali’ has been honoured with the prestigious Grand Prix Award at the 22nd Amur Autumn International Film Festival in Russia. Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who produced the movie under his banner SK Productions, shared the exciting news on his social media platforms.

‘Kottukkaali’ is directed by PS Vinothraj, whose previous film ‘Koozhangal’ won the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2021. The film has been earning accolades and positive reviews at every festival where it has been showcased.

Recently, it won the prestigious Golden Lynx Award for Best Feature Film at the Portugal International Film Festival, marking a significant international recognition for the film. ‘Kottukkaali’ also became the first Tamil film to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and received enthusiastic praise at the Transilvania International Film Festival.

Backed by actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan under his banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions, ‘Kottukkaali’ is Soori’s second film as a lead, following his role in Vetrimaaran’s ‘Viduthalai’. Soori’s recent performance in ‘Garudan’ also received high praise. For Anna Ben, ‘Kottukkaali’ marks her debut in Tamil cinema. The film’s cinematography is handled by Sakthi, with Ganesh Siva in charge of editing.
