Indian Student Vel Vizhly Wins First Prize in National Malay Storytelling Contest

Indian student Vel Vizhly Nagamanni has showcased the extraordinary talents of Indian students by winning the first prize in a national-level Malay language storytelling competition. This prestigious event was held as part of the National Level Carnival Bahasa Melayu at Inti International University in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

Vel Vizhly’s achievement is not just a personal triumph; it represents the remarkable capabilities of Indian students in diverse fields, including language and culture. Her success in mastering the Malay language, traditionally spoken in Malaysia, highlights her dedication, hard work, and commitment to bridging cultural divides through storytelling.

Twelve-year-old Vel Vizhly Nagamanni, a student from SJK (C) Peir Chih in Kelantan, has made a remarkable mark in the realm of storytelling by winning first prize in a national-level Malay language storytelling competition. This event was part of the National Level Carnival Bahasa Melayu, which took place over three days at Inti International University in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

In a highly competitive environment, Vel Vizhly showcased her talent by telling an engaging story about an honest fisherman. Competing against students from 16 different schools, her performance stood out, capturing the attention of the judges and audience alike. Vel Vizhly’s success is a reflection of her deep interest in the Malay language, which she has diligently nurtured. This passion has honed her skills, enabling her to participate effectively in the competition.

Vel Vizhly’s remarkable achievement in the national-level Malay language storytelling competition can be attributed in part to the dedicated training she received from her teachers, Pui Bi Saa, Tan Lee Yeh, and Rosliza. Their guidance and support played a crucial role in honing her storytelling skills and enhancing her confidence.

According to Vanakkam Malaysia, the mother of Vel Vizhly Nagamanni shared that her daughter has also participated in Thirumurai recitals and Bharatanatyam dance competitions. This highlights Vel Vizhly’s commitment not only to her academic pursuits but also to her cultural and religious education.
