Astro customers can look forward to ‘Pallikoodam’, a local Tamil family drama series premiering on November 18 at 9.30pm on Astro Vaanavil (Channel 201). The series will be available on TV, Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka. Directed by the talented local filmmaker Tinesh Sarathi Krishnan, ‘Pallikoodam’ is the first local Tamil series centered around a Tamil school, showcasing children in the lead roles.

The series aims to bring attention to the mental health challenges that primary school students often face. It tells the story of Yamuna, a bright 10-year-old girl who struggles with language barriers, making her a target for bullying by her classmates.

When Yamuna’s teacher chooses her to take part in the Muthamizh Vizha, a competition that showcases students’ potential in the Tamil language, she finds herself at a crossroads. Her parents have conflicting opinions about her participation.

The series delves into Yamuna’s internal struggles as she balances the weight of her own aspirations against the differing expectations of her parents. It follows her journey of resilience and determination, showing how she confronts these obstacles and ultimately grows from the experience, striving to overcome the barriers and achieve success.

The series features a cast of promising debut and talented local actors, including Pavithiran Sukundan, Navomikah Avikna Kavidaran, Vanessa Cruez, Shashi Tharan, Aruna Raj, Sangabalan, and Kuben Mahadevan.

Tune in to new episodes of ‘Pallikoodam’ airing from Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm on Astro Vaanavil (Channel 201). Viewers can watch it on TV, Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka. For further details, visit Astro’s website.
