After more than a year, Lyca Productions has officially announced its production of Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut. Jason, the son of actor Vijay, will have the film’s cast and crew details revealed by the production house on Friday.
Sundeep Kishan has been confirmed as the lead actor for the film, with Thaman S onboard as the music director and Praveen KL handling the editing. Other details, including the remaining cast and the cinematographer, are yet to be announced. The project, still untitled, is tentatively referred to as ‘Jason Sanjay 01,’ ‘Sundeep Kishan 31, ‘ and ‘Lyca Productions Next.’
In August of last year, Subaskaran of Lyca Productions and Jason Sanjay posed for a photo holding the signed agreement for the project. At the time, Jason expressed his gratitude in an official statement, calling it an honor to collaborate with such a “prestigious production house” as Lyca Productions. He commended the company as a platform that nurtures emerging talent and shared his excitement about having his script approved while being granted “complete creative freedom.” Notably, Jason holds a degree in filmmaking from the United States and has also completed a screenwriting course in London.
Lyca Productions, which recently produced Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ directed by TJ Gnanavel, has two major projects lined up for release. These include ‘Vidaamuyarchi,’ directed by Magizh Thirumeni and starring Ajith Kumar, and ‘L2: Empuraan,’ the sequel to the hit film Lucifer, with Mohanlal reprising his role in the lead and Prithviraj Sukumaran directing.
