Tovino Thomas, the actor who played Beeja in Maari 2 has suffered mild burn injuries while shooting his upcoming Malayalam film, Edakkaad Batallion 06. It is reported that the actor is out of harm’s way and was given immediate medical treatment.
The director of Edakkaad Batallion 06, Sujith Vasudevan, initially suggested that a stunt double be used for the risky shot involving a raging fire. Tovino, however, wanted to stay true to his role of the hero, and do it on his own. Tovino was nearly engulfed by the flames, but was rescued on time.
Film producer Sandra Thomas posted a video of the incident on her social media handle. The actor is said to be currently recuperating well and will resume shooting soon. We hope he agrees to a stunt double in the future.
