In our country, there are numbers of people and families in underserved areas that continue to face challenges with their basic nutritional needs. Charitable initiative have become essential aid providing hope and sustenance to these communities.
Adding to these efforts, Berjaya Corporation Berhad (BCrop) founder and advisor Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, with Kriyalakhsmi Mandir Sai Selva Gurukal (KMSSG) Charitable Society, has launched an initiative under the Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen. This initiative aims to help hunger while promoting environmental sustainability by serving 100% vegetarian meals to those in need.
A Unique Vision for Hunger and Sustainability
The Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen began at Jalan Ayer Panas Baharu, Setapak aims to provide free vegetarian meals to underserved communities in their homes and on streets. Speaking at the event, Vincent Tan expressed his pride in contributing to this with BCorp and Veggie Nature.

Veggie Nature plays a key role in the initiative by supplying fresh, homegrown vegetables from Berjaya Hills.
“I am proud that BCorp can play a role in addressing hunger and supporting those in need,” Vincent said. “Together with the Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen, we are working to create a stronger and more compassionate community.”
He also highlighted the importance of having dedicated individuals like KMSSG founder GuruMatha Annai Shree Kriyalakshmi Deviyar, who has devoted her life to charitable work.
“We must have more people like Maa (GuruMatha), who not only provide food but also train underprivileged children in education.”

Promoting Vegetarianism for a Sustainable Future
As a vegetarian himself, Vincent emphasized the significance of vegetarianism by addressing the global challenges such as climate change and environmental degradation. He pointed out that while organic produce may come at a higher cost, the benefits are beyond price.
“Everyone has the power to make a difference. Even small changes, like switching to a vegetarian diet, can have a big impact,” Vincent stated.
He said that the Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen’s commitment to vegetarian meals aligns with a vision of ecological balance, contributing to a healthier planet for future generations.
The Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen, established in less than five months, stands as a testament to the efficiency and dedication of KMSSG. The facility is fully equipped with modern cooking appliances, utensils, and a steady supply of fresh ingredients, ensuring the smooth preparation of nutritious meals for the needy.
This initiative shows the power of compassion, and a shared vision for a better world. As the Brahmarpanam Soup Kitchen continues to expand its reach, it aims to inspire more people and organizations to join the cause of fighting hunger and promoting sustainable living.
