In today’s world, young entrepreneurs are at the forefront of change and innovative ideas, they transform the industries with their unique and bold ideas with unwavering passion. Filled with creativity and the desire to make things different, they are not only building successful businesses but also inspiring the upcoming younger generation to dream big and redefine success. These young visions prove to us that age is no barrier to building a business or ambition. With the right mindset, determination, anything and everything is possible.

One such inspiring, 25 years old Sherilyn Lawrance has carved her path as a young women entrepreneur and a media professional. She combines creativity, passion and the entrepreneurial spirit alive from her family roots. Sherilyn’s journey is a testament to resilience and the courage to dream big. Through her clothing brand, “House Of Sajaliya”, she has blended modern fashion with traditional craftsmanship, offering us to embrace our authenticity.

The Spark Of Inspiration

Sherilyn’s entrepreneurial journey began with values she absorbed from her family. Watching her parents, building a business from ground up taught her the power of perseverance and vision.

“I saw my parents build their business from the ground up, and that taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and the power of community. Their relentless pursuit of excellence shaped who I am today”

Initially, her degree in Media, Culture and Communication was there to give her a different path, she realised her calling was to create something more personal– a brand that told stories. The idea for House Of Sajaliya came from her desire to connect with people through our culture at the same time, a unique style.

“I realized I wanted to create a brand that was not just about clothing but about telling a story, one that could resonate with people on a deeper, more meaningful level. House of Sajaliya became the perfect blend of my passion for design and my desire to connect people through culture, craftsmanship, and style. Our brand is a celebration of individuality, where modern fashion meets traditional heritage, something that is close to my heart and reflects the values that have shaped me”.

Fashion With A Soul

When there are many other entrepreneurs, why House Of Sajaliya? The stand out of the brand is focus on storytelling through fashion. The collections Sherilyn has incorporated traditional techniques all the way from Tamil Nadu and Jaipur, giving a mixture of heritage with contemporary designs.

“These age-old techniques are honored in every stitch, while modern, contemporary designs are woven in to ensure that each piece feels timeless, yet relevant.”

By offering high-quality, affordable fashion, Sherilyn ensures her designs are accessible while maintaining cultural authenticity—a balance that resonates deeply with her customers.

“We believe that high-quality fashion should be accessible to everyone, without sacrificing craftsmanship or style. It’s about creating garments that not only stand the test of time but that also carry meaning both in terms of their design and the legacy of the artisans behind them. By continuously listening to our customers, staying attuned to emerging trends, and evolving with the fashion landscape, we ensure that House of Sajaliya not only stands out but remains fresh, relevant, and deeply connected to the values that matter most to our audience.”

The Challenges of Starting Small

Even if you are a huge business owner or a small one, there are and will be challenges you would face. If you’re a young entrepreneur or if you have an idea to start one, Sheriyn’s journey that she has shared with us would not just be a help but inspiring. Building House Of Sajaliya was not without obstacles, Sherilyn faced challenges from limited resources to navigating a competitive market. With that she had another career path, and struggled with juggling both.

The market of online clothing business is one of the top ones right now, and it is not an easy job to build a brand as if it’s a walk in the park. With countless hurdles Sherilyn faced, she relied on her resourcefulness, leveraging social media as her primary tool for customer engagement and visibility.

“In the early days, marketing on a tight budget and trying to gain visibility in a saturated market required not just hard work but also strategic thinking and creative problem-solving. I had to be resourceful, finding ways to build awareness without relying on heavy investment. Social media became my most powerful tool.

Her journey might have started of rough but she stood up and stayed motivated.

“There were times when I felt like I was competing against much bigger players, but I learned to use that as motivation. Family support was crucial during these times; their belief in me and the brand kept me grounded and reminded me to stay adaptable as I navigated the unpredictable waters of entrepreneurship. My journey hasn’t been easy, but a mix of persistence, resilience, and unwavering faith has kept me going, proving that you can overcome almost anything when you stay committed to your vision.”

Turning Passion into Reality

As we grow, there’s a vision and dream that’s built in our head. But the main question is how do we transform that vision into a successful brand. Sherilyn reflected on her  journey to establish her passion and commitment, starting small, she launched a handful of designs and used her background in media to connect with the audience.

“I started small, with just a handful of designs, and leveraged social media to showcase my work, building a community and creating an emotional connection with my audience. Slowly but surely, with grit and determination, I turned House of Sajaliya into what it is today, a brand that reflects not just my love for design, but my journey as a young entrepreneur who dared to dream big”

Balancing Modern and Traditional Design

As said, the designs you could get in House Of Sajaliya are unique , giving you a blend of the past and present, drawing inspiration from heritage and global fashion trends.

“I combine traditional motifs with modern aesthetics, creating designs that feel both timeless and forward-thinking. It’s about striking a balance between innovation and authenticity. Every collection is tested and refined, often with input from my family, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and style”.

When I look at Sheriyn’s dreams for Sajaliya, I see how she is ambitious yet grounded to her values. She sees herself opening a boutique where customers can come in and experience the brand’s essence firsthand. She has plans to collaborate with international brands and build a reseller network to empower entrepreneurs.

“My focus is on sustainability, inclusivity, and creating a global impact. Sajaliya isn’t just a brand; it’s a movement to inspire confidence and self-expression. With every step forward, I’m excited to see how the House of Sajaliya continues to inspire and empower people, fostering a deeper connection to the values we hold.”

Empowering Young Entrepreneurs

When I see a young entrepreneur, all I see is innovation, creativity and diversity. It is crucial for us to support small businesses that represent all of it, it fuels progress and nurtures a culture of originality. Sherilyn shared her words on it too.

“Young entrepreneurs bring fresh ideas and energy. It’s not just about starting a business; it’s about creating something meaningful. Supporting these ventures helps build a more vibrant, inclusive community.”

Sherilyn’s journey as a young woman entrepreneur, has taught her the value of resilience and staying true to one’s vision. Her advice to others is to grasp the challenges that comes along your journey and take the failures as a opportunity for growth,

“Building a brand takes time, and you need to remain adaptable and focused, even when things get tough. Stay true to your vision, be patient with the process, and remember that the small victories along the way are just as important as the big ones. The journey is never easy, but if you’re determined and committed, the rewards are well worth it. ”

House Of Sajaliya is not just a clothing brand, it’s a celebration of heritage, and entrepreneurial spirit. Sherilyn, your story is a reminder that with passion and vision, it’s possible to build something that is truly meaningful. At the end of the day, happiness comes from following your heart. At the age of 25, you have inspired many youngsters that it is never too early and never too late to do what you love. You’re an inspiration to many youngsters, with the heart, dedication and kindness you have, you deserve all the success you’ve worked for!
