On Tuesday, 21st January, 22 Indian entrepreneurs from the Kuala Langat district in Selangor received business assistance in the form of assets or equipment beneficial to their ventures. This initiative was part of the Indian Selangor Empowerment and Entrepreneurs Development (i-SEED) program for 2024. i-SEED is a program dedicated to supporting the Indian community in Selangor, particularly those in the B40 income group.

A total of RM137,000 worth of assets and equipment was distributed to small business entrepreneurs as part of the initiative. The government has been actively implementing various programs to support Indian entrepreneurs in the small business sector.

These initiatives are specifically designed to assist entrepreneurs who face financial constraints, providing them with the necessary resources to sustain and grow their businesses or services. By addressing the lack of funding and operational challenges, the government aims to empower these entrepreneurs, enabling them to contribute to the local economy and improve their livelihoods.

V. Papparaidu, a Member of the Selangor State Executive Council, encouraged the recipients to fully utilize the assets and equipment provided to them. He also highlighted the various initiatives in place to support Indian entrepreneurs and urged those in need to apply for the assistance. Eligible entrepreneurs who meet all the criteria and requirements will be selected to receive the aid. He emphasized the importance of submitting applications with all the necessary and valid documentation to ensure a smooth process.

In Selangor alone, almost 22,000 Indians are living in poverty. To address this, the government has implemented numerous initiatives to assist them. Additionally, skills training workshops will be organized for the younger generation, enabling them to master various skills and pursue careers in their chosen fields. These efforts aim to uplift the community and provide better opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
