The Malaysian Indian Skills Initiatives (MISI) continues their mission to upskill and empower the Indian Community, but this time they are focusing on lorry drivers through Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), Dangerous Goods (DG) Integrated Truck Driver Training programme. The three day programme, began in Klang, Selangor is organised by the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) through Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).
The overwhelming response to the training, shows the demand for specialised skills in the logistic sector. By Batu MP P. Prabhakaran, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to provide career enhancing opportunities for the Indian Community.
According to HRD Corp, the DG certification provides lorry drivers with industry recognized certificates, enabling them to get higher salaries and better job opportunities. The training not only gives participants a competitive edge but opens pathways to entrepreneurship and management roles.
“The Programme graduates can also explore entrepreneurship opportunities and qualify for management roles, It also supports ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) compliance and international safety standards, ensuring it’s continued relevance to industry needs”, said HDR Corp.
Prabhakaran in his speech highlighted that the training represents a significant mark in equipping lorry drivers with essential skills and certification to advance in their careers.

For many, the MISI programme is more than just a training initiative, it’s an open door to new job opportunities and financial stability. This will help many in the Indian Community.
As an example, 29 years old V. Kalaiselvan, who struggled to find employment for over six months, expressed how grateful he is for this opportunity.
“I am extremely grateful for the chance to receive the DG integrated Training Certificate. Thank you MADANI Government”.
