The Thaipusam festival was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur last month at Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, organized by the Ipoh Hindu Devasthana Paripalana Sabha. Thousands of devotees gathered to take part in the sacred rituals and vibrant festivities. The president of the Sabha, Mr. R. Seetha Raman, officially announced that the total collection from the festival amounted to RM 619,241, a significant contribution towards the temple’s upkeep and religious activities.
Additionally, A. Sivanesan, the Perak State Executive Council Member for Indian Community Welfare, Health, and Human Resource Unity, who attended the Thaipusam festival as a special guest, announced that the Perak state government has committed to providing a grant of RM 100,000.
On this occasion, he extended his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the temple to the Perak state government, the police department, the fire and rescue services, the RELA security forces, and all uniformed personnel for their invaluable support in ensuring the smooth and successful celebration of the Thaipusam festival.

This year’s Thaipusam collection is approximately RM 50,000 more than the previous year. The funds will be utilized to improve facilities for devotees. Necessary arrangements will be made in the coming years to reduce congestion and ensure a more comfortable experience for devotees attending the festival.
The President, R. Seetha Raman, extended his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the temple to the generous donors who contributed in various ways during this year’s Thaipusam festival. He also expressed his appreciation to the Ipoh City Council for their efforts in maintaining cleanliness, as well as to the lecturers and students of Politeknik Ungku Omar, other higher education institutions, and all volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to serve selflessly.
