Eight Tamil Schools in Cameron Highlands have been chosen for Artificial Intelligence (AI) training under the, “ARAM AI” programme, an initiative that was initiated and officiated by National Unity Minister, YB Saraswathy Kandasami. This initiative is aimed to equip students with essential digital skills.
The Tamil schools include SJKT Kuala Terla, SJKT Tanah Rata, SJKT Ladang Boh 1, SJKT Ladang Boh 2, SJKT Sungai Palas, SJKT Blue Valley, SJKT Ringlet, and SJKT Shum Yip Leong.

YB Saraswathy highlighted that the programme was designed to introduce AI education at an early stage of a student’s life, ensuring that they do not perceive it as a bad subject. She emphasized that teachers of the schools and parents will play an active role in guiding the students through this journey. With the right guidance, AI will never be a complex subject to youngsters.
“This program aims to foster innovation, critical thinking and technological literacy among our community, preparing them to thrive in an increasingly digital world”.

Speaking at the AI for Malaysia’s Future training program launch at SJKT Kuala Terla, YB Saraswathy ensured that AI should not be viewed as a threat but rather a valuable tool with a huge potential across fields like education and business.
This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s vision for Malaysia to become a leader in AI and digital transformation within the country. In collaboration with Microsoft, the government aims to equip 800,000 Malaysians with AI skills.

The ARAM AI program is a significant step towards building the digital gap within the Indian community, ensuring young learners are well-prepared to excel in an AI Driven future.
