Yugesh Kannan clinched the championship title in V Supreme, Mediacorp’s Indian talent hunt competition, at the grand finale held this evening. Showcasing his electrifying stage presence and outstanding performances, Yugesh impressed the judges and secured the top spot, winning the grand prize of $10,000. He narrowly outperformed fellow finalists Sheena, Yazhini, Krishmita, Alex, and Ashraf to claim the prestigious title.

Yugesh, a 23-year-old Political Science student, is passionate about acting, hosting, writing, and football. Drawing inspiration from Sivakarthikeyan, he joined V Supreme to challenge himself and develop his own distinct identity as an entertainer.

Hosted by Vishnu M. Anandh, V Supreme was designed to highlight and nurture emerging talent in Singapore’s Indian entertainment industry. The competition began with 12 promising contestants, selected from hundreds of auditions held in October 2024.

As the contest progressed, participants underwent an intensive bootcamp followed by six weeks of live performances that pushed their creativity and skills to the limit. They faced challenging rounds in acting, dancing, and impromptu hosting, ultimately narrowing the competition down to the final six contenders.

During the grand finale, the six finalists demonstrated their versatility through a series of intense challenges that put their skills to the ultimate test. They took on both scripted and spontaneous acting tasks, as well as a demanding hosting and interview segment. Adding to the excitement, veteran actors and actresses Ashwini Nair, Bharathi Rani, Kishore Kumaran, and Sivakumar Palakrishnan made special guest appearances.

The judging panel, featuring singer and model Annetha Ayyavoo, actor Jabur Deen Faruk, multi-hyphenate Jaenani Netra and media veteran JK Saravana, evaluated the finalists on key criteria such as stage presence, technical skills, creativity, and audience engagement. The final rankings were determined through a combination of judges’ scores (80 percent) across all the finalists’ performances, and the public vote, with fans stepping in as the fifth judge, contributing 20 percent to the overall score.

Yugesh mesmerized both the judges and audience with his exceptional acting skills, quick wit, and natural stage presence. His outstanding performances in the finale earned him the highest overall score, securing the championship title and the grand prize of $10,000 in a spectacular crowning ceremony.

Sheena claimed second place, taking home $6,000, while Yazhini secured third place with a prize of $3,000. Meanwhile, Krishmita, Alex, and Ashraf, who finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth place respectively, each received $1,500.

Yugesh, winner of V Supreme, said: “Winning V Supreme feels like a dream come true. This journey has been incredibly challenging, but I am grateful for the experience, the friendships made, and the chance to showcase what I love doing. I could not have done it without the amazing mentors, judges, and everyone who believed in me. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next!”
