Playback singer Sid Sriram is stepping into a new phase of his musical journey with Warner Music Indian (WMI). Their first project together, ‘Sivanar’, is set to be released on 3rd April. A spiritual person dedicated to Lord Murugan, ‘Sivanar’ is produced, arranged and performed by Sid Sriram himself. The song embodies verses from Thiruppugazh, a collection of religious phrases by 14th- century Tamil poet Arunagirinathar. Adding to it’s authenticity, the music video was filmed at Batu Caves Murugan Temple when he performed during the Thaipusam festival that was celebrated on 11th February, capturing the essence of the celebration

Sid Sriram had already given the audience and his fans a glimpse of ‘Sivanar’ when he performed a version of it at the prestigious Coachella music festival. Speaking about the song, he shared that it holds a very deep personal significance,
“My relationship with music has always been about staying connected to my roots while exploring new possibilities. ‘Sivanar’ is very special to me, because it was taught to me by my mother and guru Latha Sriram, when I was 10 years old”, said Sid Sriram.
He also shared his excitement on his collaboration with Warner Music India, calling it an important milestone of his career.
Jay Mehta, the Managing Director of Warner Music India, praised Sid Sriram’s ability to combine classical with modern appeal, saying they are eager to explore new opportunities and music that bring his unique artistry to a wider audience.
In addition to ‘Sivanar’, Sid Sriram recently sang the song Prema Velluva, a romantic track for Nani’s action thriller film, Hit 3. With ‘Sivanar’, Sid Sriram continues to build the bridge of merging traditional and contemporary music. Malaysian fans are also eager to watch the music video that was shot at Batu Caves.
