A gas pipeline fire at Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, left five people hospitalised and 25 others injured this morning. Victims sustained burns, wounds, and respiratory issues, with medical personnel providing emergency treatment at a nearby temple, according to Bernama.
Reports indicate that five victims have been transferred to Serdang Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) confirmed in a Facebook post that power in the affected area was initially disrupted but has since been restored.

The fire was triggered by a gas pipeline leak from Petronas, causing flames to engulf 500 meters of the pipeline. The blaze quickly spread to nearby homes, forcing residents to evacuate.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JPBM) Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, stated that Petronas has shut off the pipeline valve. However, the extent of the closure upstream remains uncertain.
Since the fire broke out, images and videos of the massive blaze have gone viral on social media, capturing towering flames reaching several hundred feet and thick plumes of black smoke. When contacted, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming confirmed that he had received a written report from Selangor JPBM regarding the incident.

“We will conduct an investigation to determine what actually happened. I have instructed the fire and rescue department to look into the matter,” he told FMT.
Authorities are continuing their investigations into the cause of the fire, while emergency teams work to assess the full extent of the damage. Residents affected by the blaze are receiving assistance, and efforts are underway to restore normalcy to the area. As more details emerge, officials are expected to take further action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
