Gas Malaysia Bhd has expanded it’s gas supply curtailment to include more areas following operational disruptions caused by last week’s pipeline explosion in Putra Heights. In a statement, the utility company announced that Merbau, Tronoh, Perai, Junjung and Hutang Melintang are the latest regions to experience supply limitations, adding to the list of previous affected areas such as Shah Alam, Kundang, Petaling Jaya, Teluk Panglima Garang, Port Klang, Pulau Indah, and their surrounding zones.
“While the originally announced curtailment period remains unchanged and is still expected to continue 20th April, operational limitations from the incident have necessitated a broader supply cut, affecting new areas and additional customers”, said Gas Malaysia.
The company emphasised that it is working closely with affected customers and it’s gas suppliers to manage the disruptions. Regular updates and necessary support will be provided to help mitigate the impact.

“Ensuring public safety, minimising customer inconvenience and maintaining service integrity are our top priorities during this period,” it added.
Gas Malaysia also expressed their gratitude for the continued patience and cooperation of their customers and stakeholders. For further information and updates, they have been encouraged to visit the company’s official website at their website.
The Putra Heights incident prompted a temporary shutdown of gas supply facilities close to it, impacting both industrial and residential consumers in the Klang Valley and beyond.
