The 26-year-old national athlete finished runner-up in the Swiss tournament, putting up a spirited fight in the final against world No.1 Nouran Gohar of Egypt. Despite the straight-games defeat (7-11, 12-14,9-11), Sivasangari walked away with her head held high, taking pride in her progress and form on court.
Speaking about the tournament, she said,
“I am happy with the way I played at Grasshopper Cup. But obviously, I feel I could have done better in the finals. Still, it was a valuable experience”.

She hopes to carry that momentum into the World Championships, which will take place in Chicago, US from 9th May-17th May.
“I want to take this momentum and work hard these few days, and hope to do well there”, she said in a statement.
Sivasangari will begin her World Championships journey facing Spain’s Marta Dominguez in the opening roud. This will mark their first encounter, with Dominguez currently ranked 53rd in the world.
The Malaysian camp is hopeful that Sivasangari’s recent performances are sign of bigger breakthrough ahead as she continues her rise in the global squash circuit. With determination and form on her side, all eyes will be on her for her Chicago game.
