Over 350 Malaysians in India are currently receiving assistance from consular officials, while more than 100 citizens in Pakistan are preparing to return home soon. According to a statement released yesterday by Wisma Putra, the government is actively monitoring the developments in both countries amid ongoing flight disruptions and the closure of airspace at several key airports.
The Malaysian High Commissions in New Delhi and Islamabad, along with their respective consulate offices, are actively providing consular assistance on the ground, the statement added.

Malaysians residing near the border areas of India and Pakistan have been strongly advised to postpone any non-essential journeys due to the heightened tensions and uncertainties in the region. In addition, they are encouraged to register with the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate to ensure they can be reached quickly and receive timely assistance if the situation escalates further.
On Saturday, reports indicated that India and Pakistan had reached an agreement to implement a “full and immediate ceasefire” following four consecutive days of cross-border attacks targeting each other’s military installations.
Pakistan’s foreign minister also confirmed that both nations had mutually agreed to enforce a ceasefire “effective immediately.”
As tensions between India and Pakistan show signs of de-escalation with the recent ceasefire agreement, Malaysian authorities continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of their citizens in both countries. While efforts are underway to assist those affected and facilitate the return of Malaysians from Pakistan, the situation remains fluid. Wisma Putra urges all Malaysians in the region to stay informed, remain in contact with local diplomatic missions, and exercise caution as developments unfold.
