AR Rahman has unveiled a bold new chapter in cinematic storytelling with the world premiere of his groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) film Le Musk, which debuted to critical acclaim in Singapore on 11th May.
Held in Golden Village Suntec and presented in association with Malaysia-based HD Entertainment, the exclusive event marked the official launch of the world’s first fully integrated multi-sensory VR film, a 37 minute experience that blends visual, sound, scent, motion, and touch.
“This is not just a film—it’s an emotional, full-sensory journey. To see audiences so deeply moved validates years of hard work and innovation,” said A.R. Rahman at the premiere.
The immersive film, which allows only 50 viewers per day due to its highly tailor setup, immerses the audience in the haunting story of Juliet Merdinian, a woman driven by the scent of her parents’ killers. Through advanced VR technology, 360° stereoscopic camera, haptic motion platforms, and scent release systems, Le Musk pushes the boundaries of cinematic form, while ensuring a nausea free and deeply visceral experience.
Southeast Asia’s First Look at The Future of Cinema
The Singapore premiere marks Le Musk’s first public showcase in Southeast Asia. “We’re honored to bring Le Musk to Southeast Asia and thrilled by the incredible audience response,” said Mr David Raja, Chairman of HD Entertainment Pte Ltd.
Following its successful Singapore debut, Le Musk will continue its global journey with upcoming showcases planned in India and Malaysia, two regions close to Rahman’s heart and integral to his global fanbase.

Le Musk will run for three months in Singapore with extremely limited daily slots available. Tickets are currently on sale through BookMyShow. With only 50 viewers admitted per day, the three-month Singapore showcase promises an exclusive and unforgettable experience.
