Ajith Kumar Confirms Next Film to Begin in November 2025, Aims for 2026 Release

Tamil cinema icon Ajith Kumar has officially confirmed that his next film AK64, will begin production in November 2025, with a planned release in April or May 2026. The much anticipated announcements comes after the success of his latest film Good Bad Ugly which hit theatres on 10th April 2025, which is now streaming in Netflix.

In a recent exclusive interview with Indulge by The Indian Express, Ajith opened up about balancing two professions cinema and racing. A professional racing enthusiast and team founder, the actor shared insights into how he plans to align with his film schedules with the European racing calender.

“Our racing season in Europe starts in March and ends in October, but for that one-off race that happens in Dubai in January. If I can squeeze in a film between the November to February period, I’ll be able to release on film a year while focusing on racing too,” Ajith said.

Ajith who was recently honoured with prestigious Padma Bhushan for his contribution to the arts, further clarified this schedule allows him to five “Exclusive Time” to both passions without compromise, silencing critics who speculate about the future of his acting career.

“This way, I can give my all to each project, be it a race or a film and still stay connected to both worlds,” he added, expressing gratitude to his long time producers, and directors who support his dual career vision.

While details about the upcoming film remain under wraps, speculation has raised. Names like Venkat Prabhu, Adhik Ravichandran and even Dhanush have surfaced between fans. However, no official confirmation about the director or cast has been made.

Ajith Kumar whose acting career spans over 30 years and 63 films, continues to remain one of Tamil cinema’s most respected stars. His recent film, Good Bad Ugly directed by Adhik Ravichandran, featured Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna and many more. As fans eagerly await for updates on AK64, Ajith’s announcement reaffirms his commitment to entertaining audience while passionately pursuing racing, a rare combination that further carries his legacy as a multifaceted icon in the entertainment industry.
