Passengers travelling on KTM Komuter services in the Klang Valley this weekend are advised to be informed and prepared for temporary schedule changes and potentials delays, as Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Berhad) embarks on signal system upgrade works between Kepong Station and Salak Selatan Station.
The adjustments, which will be in effect from 24th May to 26th May, are part of KTMB’s broader initiative to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of it’s rail services. In a statement release today, KTMB confirmed that two major KTM Komuter routes Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang and Tanjung Malim-KL Sentral-Tanjung Malim, will experience delays up to 50 minutes during the upgrade period. The Electric Train Service (ETS) is also expected to be affected.
Platform Changes on 24th May
On 24th May, passengers on two specific ETS routes, EG9425 (Padang Besar to Segamat) and EG9321 (Butterworth to Segamat), should also expect platform changes at KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur station. Station personnel will be deployed to assist and direct passengers to the correct platforms.

KTMB has urged all passengers to play their journeys in advance and to stay updated using the MyRailtime feature on the KTMB Mobile app. Additionally, SMS alerts will be sent out to ETS passengers whose journeys may be impacted.
“Station staff will be on hand to assist and guide passengers to the appropriate platforms”, the company assured it in their statement.
“Passengers are advised to stay alert to announcements at stations and monitor KTMB’s official social for latest updates”.

KTMB has also expressed appreciation for the publics understanding during this crucial upgrade phase, which is aimed at enhancing overall train operations and long term service quality.

“We thank our passengers for their patience and continued support. Any further updates will be shared through our official media channels. For assistance, passengers may contact the KTMB Customer Service Centre at 03-97791200.”
Passengers planning to use KTM Komuter or ETS services between 24th May and 26th May are strongly encouraged to check schedules ahead of time and allow for additional travel time to avoid disruption.
