Batik Air is set to expand its footprint from Subang’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB) by launching two new daily routes, to Bangkok and Kuching, starting July 28th 2025. This marks the airline’s first international service from Subang, a key milestone in the airport’s revival as a city based aviation hub.
The new Bangkok routes offer Klang Valley residents a quicker, more convenient alternative for travelling to Thailand’s capital, by passing the need to journey to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Simultaneously, the Kuching route is expected to enhance domestic accessibility, particularly for East Malaysians while boosting tourism to Borneo from Peninsular Malaysia.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of Subang’s transformation into a modern, city-based hub. Bangkok is just the beginning. Subang offers a smart, time-saving alternative to KLIA, and we believe it will play an increasingly important role in the future of Malaysian aviation. With Subang, we are bringing the world closer to the Klang Valley.” said Batik Air CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy.
With these additions, Batik Air’s network from Subang will include five key destinations, Penang, Kota Baru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Bangkok, reinforcing its strategic role in both domestic and regional connectivity.
