Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced temporary changes to its train schedule as it begins crucial signaling system upgrade works along the route between Kepong Station and Salak Selatan Station. The upgrade will take place over three days, from Saturday, 31st May until 2nd June 2025.

In a statement, KTMB said that KTM Komuter services in the Klang Valley and electric train services (ETS) will be affected during the upgrade period with potential delays of up to 50 minutes from the original schedules.

Affected Komuter routes include:

  • Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pular Sebang
  • Tanjung Malim-KL Sentral- Tanjung Malim

Additionally, two ETS services, EG9425 (Padang Besar to Segamat) and EG9321 (Butterworth to Segamat), will undergo platform changes at KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur stations on 31st May only. KTMB has assured that officers will be stationed to assist passengers in navigating these changes.

The signaling system upgrade, which had previously been postponed was initially scheduled earlier this month but delayed to accommodate smoother travel during the 46th ASEAN Summit. The decision was made in light of several major road closures in the Klang Valley and government encouragement for the public to use public transport to reduce congestion.

Passengers are urged to plan their journeys in advance and check the updated train schedules via the MyRailtime feature on the KTMB Mobile app. KTMB also encourages users to stay alert to station announcements and follow updates posted on its official social media platforms.

ETS passengers affected by the schedule changes will receive notification via SMS, and KTMB’s customer service centre can be reached at 03-9779 1200 for further assistance. KTMB thanked all passengers for their patience and understanding during this essential maintenance period and assured that further updates will be provided as needed.
