In a landmark fusion of cinema and technology, Google has partnered with Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) to launch a special interactive animation on Google Search to celebrate the much-anticipated film ‘Thug Life’. This collaboration signals a bold shift in how Indian cinema connects with global audience online.
Starting now, anyone who searches ‘Thug Life 2025” on Google will be greeted with a dynamic surprise, a playful, animated fist punching through the screen, momentarily altering the search interface in a burst of digital swagger. The visual nod reflects the film’s rebellious energy and distinct attitude, offering fans a fun and immersive way to experience the spirit of Thug Life before its release.
R.Mahendran, producer of Thug Life said, “When one of the world’s leading tech giants, Google, recognises Thug Life, it signals more than global reach—it validates the film’s cultural impact and artistic ambition. We’re proud to collaborate with Google on this first-of-its-kind partnership for South Indian cinema, and grateful for their belief in our vision. This campaign also reflects the extraordinary efforts of our marketing team, who have worked tirelessly to translate bold storytelling into immersive digital engagement. From the pioneering Thugfluencer event—which amplified Gen Z voices through India’s top creators—to dynamic online experiences, every touchpoint is built for scale and resonance. Above all, we thank our audience—you are the centre of everything we do. Thug Life stands as proof of what’s possible when visionary cinema meets cutting-edge innovation. This is the new frontier of Indian film marketing.”
The partnership comes on the heels of the successful ‘Thugfluencers’ Meet, an immersive event that brought together India’s top digital creators to interact with the film’s sets, characters, and crew. The event garnered widespread social media buzz and highlighted the films commitment to engaging audiences beyond the big screen.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, R.Mahendran, and Siva Ananth, Thug Life features a star-studded ensemble led by Kamal Haasan in the role of Rangaraaja Sakthivel. Joining him are Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam with music by A.R Rahman and is set for a worldwide theatrical release on 5th June 2025.
This Google-RKFI collaboration is more than just a marketing stunt, its a defining moment in Indian cinema’s digital evolution. As the lines between storytelling and technology continue to blue, Thug Life is leading the charge with a campaign that’s as bold and groundbreaking as the film itself.
