In a remarkable achievement that’s capturing hearts nationwide, two Malaysian primary school brothers have won gold and the Best Young Inventor Excellence Award (Primary Level) at the prestigious World Young Invention Exhibition, part of the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition 2025 (ITEX 2025).

Mohammad Parsa Parhizkar (12) and his younger brother Mohammad Rohan Parhizkar (9), students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 8-1, stood out among 144 participants from 55 national and international schools. Their project ‘Minedu AI’, an intelligent learning assistant integrated into the popular game Minecraft, took home a gold medal and the top award in the primary level category.

Merging AI and Gaming to Make Learning Fun

The brothers’ invention transforms Minecraft into an immersive classroom, where students can learn Science, Biology. Geography, and more through interactive, AI-driven gameplay. By merging Artificial Intelligence with one of the world’s most popular video games, the siblings are reshaping how children engage with education.

“We love Minecraft and want to make learning fun, not boring”, said 9 year old Rohan. The older brother, Parsa added, “With AI, we can help every child learn better while enjoying the game they already love”.

Their plugin observes player behavior and uses a built in chatbot powered by Google’s Gemini AI to interact with players. The AI assistant offers explanations, quizzes and real time feedback based on the player’s actions, all connected to the Malaysian primary school syllabus.

Backed by Google Malaysia, Launching Minedu AI

Their journey did not stop the invention. Supported by Google Malaysia, the brothers have officially launched Minedu AI as a startup, making them some of the nation’s youngest tech entrepreneurs. Their solution is already being used in pilot projects and has begun generating income through plugin licensing and AI training workshops.

A Bright Future for Young Malaysian Innovators

The national and international recognition at ITEX 2025 marks a new milestone in Malaysia’s growing EdTech space. It also underscores the vast potential of nurturing digital talent from a young age.

As schools increasingly explore innovative learning methods, Minedu AI offers a timely and exciting solution that blends fun with purpose. More than just an invention, it’s a vision for the future of education, created by two brothers with a shared passion for fun, tech and learning. For more information visit: https://mineduai.my/
