Malaysia’s leading women’s doubles duo, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, are reportedly set to receive an annual income of RM1 million under a new contract with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
According to Berita Harian, the offer was finalised during a recent BAM council meeting, and the pair—whose previous contract ended in December—have accepted the terms.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is said to be open to further increasing Pearly-Thinaah’s contract value, depending on their performance at the upcoming Japan Open and China Open this month, as well as the BWF World Championships next month.

Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are expected to sign the new contract before departing for Tokyo to compete in the Japan Open, scheduled from July 15 to 20. When approached for comments, BAM secretary-general Kenny Goh declined to provide details, stating that the media should wait for an official announcement.
He was quoted as saying, “As mentioned by BAM president Tengku Zafrul Aziz, the discussions have been going well. That’s all I can share for now. At BAM, we always strive for the best outcomes, so let’s wait and see how things unfold.”
Despite earlier uncertainty about their future with BAM, Pearly-Thinaah maintained strong performances on court, winning the Thailand Open in May and finishing as runners-up at the Indonesia Open in June.
