AirAsia, a trailblazing brand in the region, is taking its digital presence to new heights with the official debut of AirAsia World on Roblox — an exciting and immersive metaverse experience created to deliver fun, adventure, and unforgettable digital journeys.
AirAsia World offers players a fun and rewarding virtual journey through Asean, blending gamified challenges with cultural exploration. Built around two core pillars — ASEAN Exploration and Rewarding Experiences — the platform brings to life Asean’s diversity in an interactive, engaging format.
1) Asean Exploration – Gamers will be able to explore Asean with vibrant environments and cultural touchpoints that depict the region in a virtual world. They will be able to explore Asean within your fingertips before experiencing it in real life.
2) Rewarding Experience – The experience includes mini-games, journal entries and seasonal updates — offering players exciting incentives while they discover and learn about ASEAN in fun, creative ways.
AirAsia World builds on the IP Development team’s recent ventures into the entertainment arena, following the successful release of the AirAsia Buds Adventures series on YouTube and the continued success of RedGames Jam, now in its third year as a game development challenge.
The game is a collaboration between AirAsia Brand Co. (Abc), Objekk, and Lumiworks Sdn Bhd, made possible through an IP 360 Metaverse grant from the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). This initiative aims to boost national investment and create development opportunities for Malaysia-based creators and studios in digital content production and creative technology.
Roblox is a free-to-play online game where users can play and create games with millions of user-generated games called ‘experiences’ spanning various genres, from racing to role-playing.
