Lalitaanjali Ravindran & Kavin Muralitharan Shine at 2nd Asian Youth Open Championship in China

The 2nd Asian Youth Open Championship and Training Camp was held in Linping, Hangzhou, China, from 12th to 16th August 2025. Representing Malaysia with pride, Indian athletes Lalitaanjali Ravindran and Kavin Muralitharan delivered outstanding performances, making their mark on the championship.

Lalitaanjali Ravindran showcased her skill and determination by winning the gold medal in the Cadet Female Kumite Individual (54kg) category, bringing glory to Malaysia on the international stage. Meanwhile, Kavin Muralitharan displayed remarkable grit and talent to secure the bronze medal in the Junior Male Kumite (-55kg) category, further adding to the nation’s achievements.

Overall, Malaysia delivered an impressive performance at the championship, finishing with a strong tally of 7 gold, 4 silver, and 11 bronze medals, reflecting the growing strength and potential of its young athletes in the sport.

The success of Lalitaanjali Ravindran and Kavin Muralitharan, alongside Malaysia’s overall medal haul, highlights the promising future of the nation’s youth in competitive sports. Their achievements not only bring pride to the country but also serve as an inspiration for the next generation of athletes to strive for excellence on the international stage.
