On 22nd August 2025, AirAsia officially launched the AirAsia Travel Fair 2025, a collaborative travel platform that unites travellers, travel agents, tourism boards, and industry partners under one roof for the very first time. Building on the success of previous editions across major Malaysian cities, this year’s fair highlights Kuala Lumpur’s growing role as a prominent travel hub, offering extensive connectivity to both domestic and international destinations. The event also serves as a timely boost to Malaysia’s tourism industry in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
The fair offers more than just promotions of AirAsia’s extensive network, featuring a variety of attractive packages from travel agents too. By bringing together the wider travel ecosystem, the event provides travellers with greater options and better value, while further strengthening Kuala Lumpur’s position as both a gateway for outbound travel and a driving force for inbound tourism.

YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia said: “For Visit Malaysia 2026, our goal is to reach over 47 million arrivals and RM329 billion in receipts. AirAsia’s extensive network that transits through Kuala Lumpur is vital in realising this target, as the city is not only a departure point for Malaysians but also a global gateway drawing visitors into the country. The AirAsia Travel Fair is a great platform to showcase the gems of both domestic and international destinations.”
Amanda Woo, Group Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia said: “This travel fair comes at a strategic time as we leverage on our strong ecosystem of partners – from tourism boards to travel agents – to offer more value-added choices to our guests. This year alone, we have resumed 5 routes across the group and launched 25 new ones, and there’s never been a better time for us to go all out in providing greater travel opportunities for our guests. As the airline with the largest domestic connectivity in Malaysia with a leading market share of 60%, we’re in a unique position to deliver both affordability and flexibility. With Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) now serving as a megahub connecting key cities across Asean and beyond, we’re strategically placed to be the gateway for regional and international travellers. This travel fair marks the beginning of a new era of value-driven travel with AirAsia at the forefront, and we look forward to more to come.”

AirAsia contributes over 96% of passenger traffic at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2). In 2024 alone, more than 25.8 million travellers flew with the airline to and from Kuala Lumpur, connecting to over 130 destinations across Asia, Australia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. The introduction of new routes—including Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent, Istanbul, Palembang, Semarang, Banjarmasin, and Darwin—has further reinforced Kuala Lumpur’s position as a key regional hub.
