Malaysians heading to the Ambang Merdeka countdown or the National Day parade will be able to travel more conveniently this year, as Rapid KL announced it will be running 24-hour transport services from 6am on 30th August until 11:30PM on August 31st.

The round-the-clock operations cover all major Rapid KL services, including the LRT, MRT, Monorail, and Sunway BRT lines. To cater to the expected surge in passengers, selected bus routes will also run until 4AM on both night, ensuring late-night crowds can return home safely.

On the roads, 86 bus routes involving 235 buses will be mobilised on the eve of Merdeka, while 100 routes with 308 buses will operate on National Day itself. Rapid On-Demand (ROD) services will be available, with 20 vans deployed across five zones in Putrajaya and one zone in the Central Business District, bookable via the MyRapid Pulse app at a fare of RM1.

For those heading to Putrajaya, 96 free shuttle busses will be provided across three dedicated routes to Dataran Putrajaya, making it easier for families and groups to attend the main celebrations without worrying about parking or traffic congestion.

There will be more than 5,000 frontline staff will be deployed to manage crowds and ensure smooth operations throughout the two day period.
