Batik Air Brings Merdeka Cheer to the Skies with Special Surprises for Passengers

In the true spirit of Merdeka, Batik Air turned ordinary flights into festive celebrations this National Day by surprising passengers with patriotic giveaways and heartfelt gestures.

Travellers departing from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang to destinations across Malaysia were greeted with the Jalur Gemilang and complimentary snacks, marking Malaysia’s 68th year of independence with warmth and appreciation. The thoughtful initiative brought a sense of national pride into the cabin, reminding passengers that flying across Malaysian skies is more than a journey, its a celebration of shared identity.

Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, said the airline’s Merdeka efforts were inspired by the values that unite the nation. “At Batik Air, we are proud to connect Malaysians across every corner of our beloved nation. On this special day, we don’t just celebrate independence. We celebrate the people, the journeys, and the bonds that keep us soaring higher as one Malaysia.”

This celebration is part of Batik Air’s ongoing commitment to enhance passenger experiences beyond the destination itself. The airline continues to expand its network across Malaysia and beyond, while using every journey as an opportunity to honour cultural and national milestone.

By bringing Merdeka into the skies, Batik Air showed that its role extends beyond aviation, it is also about strengthening connections, creating memories, and flying with the spirit of Malaysia.
