On September 14, twelve Malaysians were involved in an accident at Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. On 15th Sept, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that no fatalities were reported.
Wisma Putra confirmed that the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai is in close contact with local authorities, the injured Malaysians, and hospital representatives to provide further assistance.
The Ministry confirmed that the van transporting 12 Malaysians skidded off the road as a result of the challenging hilly terrain.
“Several individuals in the group sustained minor injuries, and four others sustained heavy but not life-threatening injuries. All are receiving treatment at local hospitals,” said the ministry, widely known as Wisma Putra, in a statement issued yesterday.

Wisma Putra has reminded Malaysians to stay cautious when traveling overseas during the monsoon season and to prioritize obtaining travel insurance.
The ministry assured that it will keep a close watch on the situation and share updates as needed.
