Batik Air is set to broaden it’s regional footprint with the launch of nine new routes on 8th December 2025, marking a significant expansion that reinforces the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

The new routes will operate from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang (SZB), including direct flights to Singapore, Jakarta, Langkawi, and Johor Bahru. The airline said this expansion aligns with the government’s Subang Airport Regeneration Plan, positioning SZB as a vibrant regional hub and a central pillar in Batik Air’s operation.

At the same time, Penang International Airport (PEN) will play a more strategic role in the airline’s network with new services to Singapore, Medan, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu, linking East Malaysia and neighboring countries more efficiently. Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (IPH) in Ipoh, will also be added to the network with new direct flights to Singapore.

Starting November 2025, all Lion Group airlines, including Batik Air will operate from Changi Airport Terminal 4, providing enhanced facilities and smoother connections for travellers.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Batik Air, said the expansions reflects careful planning and a clear vision for regional aviation.

“These new routes are not just about expanding our network. They signal our direction as a carrier. By investing in Subang and Penang as hubs and leveraging Singapore as an important source of inbound tourists, we are also supporting preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026, ensuring that more travellers can experience Malaysia with greater ease”

He also highlighted that the launch will create new opportunities for travellers, businesses, and local communities.

“The nine new services demonstrate the airline’s commitment to delivering greater choice, convenience, and seamless travel, setting a new benchmark for regional connectivity,”

With this move, Batik Air continues to strengthen it’s position as a regional player, connectivity key domestic hubs with carefully selected international destinations tailored to the needs of Malaysia travelers.
