Renowned Malaysian squash ace S. Sivasangari saw her impressive run at the Qatar Classic 2025 come to an end after falling in the quarterfinals to Egypt’s world No. 2, Hania El Hammamy, in Doha.
The 26-year-old Malaysian was defeated in straight games, with El Hammamy wrapping up the match in just 34 minutes. This latest victory also marked the Egyptian’s sixth win in eight career encounters against Sivasangari.

The quarterfinal clash took place at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, where the Egyptian’s dominance proved too much for Sivasangari, dashing her hopes of advancing to the semifinals.
The Qatar Classic 2025, a prestigious Platinum-tier event organized by the Professional Squash Association (PSA), offers a total prize pool of USD 231,500 (≈ RM 976,000) across both the men’s and women’s competitions.
Despite the defeat, Sivasangari’s strong performance throughout the tournament continues to cement her reputation as one of Malaysia’s brightest squash stars on the global stage.
