Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced the addition of two extra Electric Train Service (ETS) trips between Padang Besar and Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) in conjunction with the Deepavali festive season.

In a statement, KTMB said special services will operate from 17th October to 22nd October with ticket sales opening at 10AM on Tuesday, 7th October. The additional services will provide 630 seats per day, including business class, bringing the total number of seats available throughout the six-day period to 3,780.

According to KTMB, the initiative aims to meet the surge in passenger demand during the festive period and to help ease road congestion as Malaysians travel home for the holidays. For the Padang Besar-KL Sentral route, the additional ETS service will depart at 11.05AM, and arrive at 4.30PM, while the return service from KL Sentral-Padang Besar will depart at 5PM, and reach it’s destination at 10.20PM.

KTMB has encouraged passengers to purchase their tickets through the KTMB Mobile app (KITS) or via the official KTMB website, and to use the KTM Wallet for faster payment.

The operator also reminded travellers to plan their journeys early and purchase tickets in advance to enjoy lower, flexible fares and avoid last-minute rushes. Passengers were also advised to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes earlier before the departure, as the boarding gates closes five minutes prior to the train’s scheduled time.

For further details, travellers can visit ktmb website or contact the KTMB Call Centre at 03-97791200
