The Gardens Mall Illuminates Deepavali with a Grand Celebration of Culture and Lights

Traditional Indian Architecture, classical dance, and art take center stage this festive season

The Gardens Mall ushers in the Festival of Lights with an enchanting celebration that combines art, culture, and tradition from 8th October to 26th October 2025. This year’s Deepavali theme shines a spotlight on the grandeur of classic Indian architecture and the grace of traditional dances, transforming the mall into a vibrant tapestry of color, rhythm, and heritage.

At the heart of the celebration lies a stunning kolam design, a hallmark of Deepavali, inspired by the intricate beauty of Mughal domes, carved pillars, ornate arches, and sacred architectural motifs symbolizing protection and prosperity. This year’s kolam goes beyond decoration, it tells a story. Drawing from the graceful poses of bharatanatyam dancers and the flow of classical Indian music, the design reflects how movement, art, and devotion intertwined to celebrate light conquering darkness.

A Celebration of Dance and Tradition

Visitor can experience the rhythmic charm of India’s diverse classical and folk dances throughout the festive period. The performance including Bharatanatyam, Apsara Temple Dance (Rajasthan), Thandiyaras, and semi-classical Odissi dance, will be held on 11, 12, 18, 19,20, 25 and 26th October, at 1PM and 4.30PM. Each performance showcases the spiritual depth and cultural richness that define Deepavali, bringing the kolam’s inspiration to life through movement and expression.

Hands-On Workshop and Creative Encounters

Beyond the performance, shoppers can take part in hands-on workshops designed to spark creativity and connection. Participants can paint their own mud lamps or craft clay art trinkets during session held on 11, 18, 20, and 25th October at 2.30PM. There will also be traditional sculptor demonstrations on 12, 19, and 26th October, offering visitors a glimpse into age-old techniques of Indian craftsmanship.

To join the workshops, shoppers simply need to spend a minimum of RM50 at any store in The Gardens Mall to register one participants. Slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, registration open 30 minutes before each session.

Festive Rewards for Shoppers

To make the season even more special, The Gardens Mall is offering an exclusive three-piece placement set and a festive stamping postcard to shoppers who spend a minimum of RM350 in a single receipt. Visitor can complete their postcard stamping at the festive display area, drop it into the post box, and The Garden Mall will send it, to any address worldwide, as a thoughtful Deepavali keepsake.

The Gardens Mall’s Deepavali celebration this year beautifully intertwined tradition and creativity, offering a space where artistry, devotion, and community come together. From the rhythmic dances that echo India’s classical heritage to the intricately designed kolam that reflects it’s architectural brilliance, every detail embodies the spirit of Deepavali, a festival that celebrates light, love, and renewal.
