The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has announced that it will implement several traffic diversions due to the Malaysian Grand Prix (MotoGP) and the ASEAN Summit, which will coincide on October 26.

ACP Azman Shari’at, the KLIA District Police Chief, stated that the traffic management would be based on the scheduled arrival of heads of state at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) as they make their way to the capital for the summit.

“Traffic diversions by PDRM, particularly the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, will be made as necessary and only at specific times,” he told reporters after a traffic and safety briefing for the 2025 MotoGP race at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

A total of 450 police personnel will be deployed throughout the event to ensure smooth traffic flow, maintain public order, and prevent crime. There will also be joint patrols with SIC security personnel to ensure public safety.

ACP Azman encouraged MotoGP visitors to use public transport, such as trains or the special buses provided, and to obey the instructions of traffic police to help ease congestion.

As for alternative routes, he mentioned that motorists could use the Bandar Serenia, Nilai, and Bandar Ainsdale toll plazas to reach SIC in the event of temporary road closures.

The 2025 MotoGP is scheduled to take place from October 24 to 26, while the ASEAN Summit will be held from October 26 to 28.
