The MRT Putrajaya Line experienced major service disruptions this morning following a suspected cable theft incident between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Central stations.
According to rail operator Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, piles of cut communication cables were found near Kuchai Station, believed to have caused significant interference to the signalling system.
With the system now operating manually, train frequency has been reduced to every 20 to 30 minutes, resulting in slower journeys and longer waiting times for commuters.

Free shuttle feeder buses have been deployed to assist affected passengers, while auxiliary police and station staff are on duty at platforms, lobbies, and bus stops to help manage the situation.
Passengers are urged to plan their journeys in advance, consider alternative transport options, and stay updated through Rapid Rail’s official social media channels.
Rapid Rail said it is working closely with the asset owner MRT Corporation and the police to investigate the theft and prevent future occurrences.
