AirAsia has advised all travellers flying through Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2) to plan their journeys in advance as the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) enforces rolling road closures and traffic diversions from 26th to 28th October 2025 in conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit and related events.

According to a statement from the airline, the diversions are expected to affect routes leading to and from KLIA T2 with dry runs scheduled between 23rd to 25th October ahead of KLIA-Putrajaya, MEX Expressway, and KL-Seremban Expressway, may experience temporary closures to accommodate official motorcades and security movements.

To avoid disruptions, AirAsia is urging guests to allow ample time for travel and arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Travellers are also encouraged to consider using alternative rail transport, particularly the Express Rail Link (KLIA Express or KLIA Transit) for a smoother journey to the airport.

The airline reminded guests that check in counters at KLIA T2 will close on hour before scheduled departure and advised all passengers to make use of self-check-in via the AirAsia MOVE App, which is available from 14 days up to one hour before departure. The e-Boarding Pass, accessible through the app, is accepted across all Malaysian airports and many destinations on AirAsia’s network.

Travellers can check real-time flight updates at airasia.com/flightstatus or through the AirAsia MOVE App, which will also provide notifications on any schedule adjustments or advisories during the summit period. The airline assured guests that it is closely monitoring the situation and working with airport authorities to minimise any inconvenience.
