Datuk P Sri Ganes, Chairman of Yayasan Mahir, has been awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel (PA) by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM). This honor recognizes and appreciates his contributions to enhancing the force’s capabilities through drone technology.
Under his leadership at the Bangi Alpha Training Centre, intensive drone training was conducted, resulting in the certification of the first drone instructors within the Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

Datuk P Sri Ganes has stated that in night rescue operations and flood-affected emergencies, this drone training will serve as a great support for fast information transfer and rescue actions. In hazardous situations like gas leaks, drones can be used to assess the condition and ensure the safety of the public and rescue teams.
Meanwhile, he noted that Yayasan Mahir in collaboration with the Malaysian Civil Defence Force under a public-private collaboration has launched the first recognised drone training centre within the Malaysian Civil Defence Force. He stated that this achievement is a historic act that advances the Malaysian civil defence organisation in the direction of modern technology.
