BMW Group Malaysia is set to host the BMW Shorties Festival 2025, marking the 19th edition of the country’s most established and prestigious arts and culture platform dedicated to nurturing homegrown storytellers. The festival will take place on 6 December 2025 at A Place Where (APW) Bangsar, bringing together filmmakers, sound designers, musicians and creative communities under this year’s theme “New Dimensions.”
Celebrating nearly two decades of empowering Malaysian talent, the BMW Shorties continues to push creative boundaries by offering a space where storytellers can innovate and reimagine the possibilities of film, sound and visual craft.
This year’s festival will showcase the BMW Shorties Finalist Screenings alongside a series of interactive workshops, all open to the public. Audiences can enjoy the shortlisted films and participate in engaging sessions designed to inspire emerging creators.
The festival will also host the premiere of “Flame of the Forest”, the latest project by BMW Shorties 2024 winner Kritysihaa Karunagaran, produced through the programme’s funding. This premiere will be a closed-door event, attended exclusively by invited guests.
The festival will conclude with the BMW Shorties Awards NIght 2025 where this year’s Grand Prize winner and all category winners will be announced.
